Sunday Funday!

What a nice day.... I hope it gets to 50 degrees today! We are having about 15 people over today for a BBQ so I would love for us to be able to be outside..maybe some yard games. Today I was up at 7:45 but laid in bed til 9:30 and watched the Golden Girls on the Hallmark Channel. It is really the small things in life I tell ya. Adam is upstairs playing with our front storm door. It doesn't shut just right so he is fixing that. The picture here is from up north again.... I just can't wait to be on the lake. My girls at work and I booked our annual Lake Minnetonka trip for the last Saturday in Jun already! Yippeee. I am off to run some errands and take in this beautiful day!

Happy Birthday Dad, and Zygmund

My dad and my nephew Zygmund both have birthdays today. I think my dad is 57... and Zygmund is 12. Zygmund turning 12 is a lot for me to swallow. It seems like yesterday when I was a Junior in High School, bragging to all my friends that I was the first one to be and "AUNT" at the age of 17. I remember babysitting him that first summer and I would take him to the mall and push him around in his navy blue and white polk-a-dot stroller.

He laid there all curled up with his Winnie the Pooh planket placed nicely over him. Zygmund's nursery was a lot of Winnie the Pooh, and our family had so much fun helping my sister and Chris prepare for the arrival of the FIRST little one to the family. I still had braces at the time and looked very young. I got a lot of stares by mall walkers who were amazed that such a young girl would have a child. I just smiled because I knew what they were thinking :)
I didn't have a car at the time and I would drop my sister off at work at the Mayo Clinic downtown Rochester and use her car for the day. One day when I went to go pick her up from work we were driving home and I turned a corner and I didn't have his seat buckled in right (this was before the time of the braces you put in cars now to hold them in place, fyi), well Karrie looked back and did a little squeel and said "OH NO, Zygmund is tipped over in his car seat.".... I immediately pulled over and we fixed it. We still laugh about it today and Zygmund loves to hear the story.

Zymund attends Kellogg Junior High Now and is in 6th grade. I attended the same school grades 7th and 8th. He seems to little to have a locker, to little to have the freedom to roam the halls between classes...but I know it is just me and I have to stomach the fact that kids grow up way too fast.

When I was young and I would see a relative and they would say "It seemed just like yesterday I was changing your diapers, " I would just laugh it off and think.... they are just saying that. Now I know what they meant :)

Happy Birthday!

Bummer...come on summer..get here!

Here I thought WINTER was over...but I was wrong. I bundled up today with a scarf and my parka for my walk to the bus stop. The bottom of my pants were wet and cold when I to work...bummer. I am going to have some coffee now and hope the caffeine buzz will make me happier (it usually does).... I am having a BBQ on Sunday so let's hope the weather gets better by then! I love living in MN don't get me wrong, I look forward to the season changes each year, but our winters are about 4 to 5 weeks too long if you ask me. I can't wait for summer to get here. Above is a picture taken from the Summer of 2007. Our family goes up north every year to a resort. We do a little of everything, but the picture above says it all...... HAVE FUN! Note.. we were dancing to High School Musical I think in this clip :)

Spring is coming....

I love this time of year.... we can open our windows, turn of the heat (save $), be outside, walk Leni everyday... and spend time on the lake or at the cabin! My mom and Glen have the most beautiful Cabin down in SE Minnesota. I love to go down there and just get away. Adam and I live in the BIG CITY of Minneapolis, so when we can get away and sleep in the silence of the hills....it is such a treat! No planes or helicopters flying over, no sirens, not having to hear THUGS pump 2pac out of their Impala's speakers while stopping at the stop sign outside our bedroom window on the corner of 57th and James. Don't get me wrong, I love our house and our neighborhood but it is nice to get away.... And the lake..oh the lake.... I love the water. I did as a kid and I always will.

Random Friday Photo

I just love this picture..it has no meaning but I have to post it. I hope this is me with my friends 50 years from now.

Rock

Yesterday I posted pictures of my dogs, my sister's dog, and me and my siblings posting like dogs. I wanted to follow up and introduce you to my brother Chris' dog, Rock or Rocket. He is such a good dog. He is getting older and was a pretty WILD puppy when he was younger. He was a runner and loved to run away from home.

My Rents

Me and Mamma

Me and my Dad.

***Note, I have a large family so I will introduce more of them down the road. If I tried to do it all in one blog, I would need about 3 hours and I ADD/HD sometimes I think when it comes to this kind of stuff.

Here is my sister's dog Ranger as a puppy.

Me and my siblings(on my mom's side) posing like dogs a couple Christmas' ago.....Such a weird picture but it really does show our True Personalities... Me..the young silly one that is known to be "out" of it sometimes, Chris the bully and mean one if he has to be. Very protective of his family. My sister Karrie the far right..the nice pleasant sweetheart of the bunch.

I have a brother Erick as well and he will be introduced later on...he goes by Big E, Big Sexy, ETC.

If we had a kid...

Here is what it would look like.

RIP Diva

Miss you pretty girl!

Our Kid

Since the theme of blogs seem to be people and their "kids" I will introduce you to our KID. We used to have 2 but we are down to 1. Our kid is a dog named Leni. Leni is a Yorkie but beware....he is a large Yorkie that is a huge baby. Leni used to have a big sister Diva who was a tiny 6 lb. Yorkie.

Diva passed away Dec. 16th of a liver disorder. Hardest time of my life, but she is in a better place now.

I got Leni on Feb. 13th 2007. He was 3.5 lbs when I brought him home and is now a bit over 20 lbs.
