Late Summer Showers

Sometimes as I look back on a day with the twins, I feel like.. "Man, I was not much fun today, and I was kind of a crab ass"..

Not tonight! Tonight was my Tuesday Single Mom day, when I drop off, pick up, and have the twins a majority of the evening as Adam doesn't arrive home until 7:30 pm.

Tonight we ate Dinner at The Dairy Queen...

Came home....

Watered flowers, and our pumpkin patch...

Then I let the twins go balls out and dump water all over each other.

I'm sure they were waiting for me to put my hands in the air and demand them to stop or else!

I didn't, I let it ride out as long as I could, and as long as their soggy wet T-Shirts allowed.

Of course it had to end in Charlie laying Lilly flat out on her ass with a stomp to the tummy. She giggled the entire time.

Retro Placemats!

The twins get nice little packages in the mail from time to time. Sometimes the items are brand new, and sometimes the items are throwback/retro items from my childhood. These place mats were eaten off of by Uncle Erick and I as children when we would visit Austin, MN.  They are in mint condition, but I am sure the Twins will find a way to take care of that.

Charlie ate this grilled cheese like it was his job. He is eating a lot lately. Hungry little boy.

On The Pontoon!

The dog days are coming to an end.

We are still soaking up as much summer as we can though. Lilly and her friend "Kevin" got to play this past Friday night.  The funny thing is, Kevin's real name is Evan, but Lilly insisted on calling him Kevin that night.  I'm so glad my friend's family cabin is 10 miles from our house!
Friday night boat ride to look at shoreline, ducks (Loons), the moon, etc...
Little warm as you can tell my Charlie's rosie cheeks!

Best Buds!

Seems like just yesterday that Charlie met Evan!

Lilly had some stories to tell us on the pontoon, that is for sure.
Evan had some tricks to show us around the cabin as well. Like how fast and hard he could slam this handle back and forth.

Thomas missed the pontoon ride, due to his evening nap! Look at this handsome little lad! Maybe handsome big lad is a better term! I could look at this flirtatious eyes, all day long.

Two Monkeys Jumpin' On The Bed

The song is RIGHT! One did fall off and bump his head, but we are all ok though!

Parish Festival

Cold Spring's Catholic Church, as a "festival" every 3rd weekend in August. It starts Saturday at 5pm and runs until Sunday at 6pm. It is jam packed full of events. This year, since Adam and I were both "in town" with a pretty open agenda, we decided to see what it was all about.

We were both very pleased, and so were the Twins.

Saturday night playground fun, kids games, bands, food stands, beer gardens, etc.

We ran into a TON of people down at the festival as well. These little munchkins didn't make it until 10pm for the fireworks, but they were still troopers.

"Mommy, I have a belly ache, from too much donuts," says Lilly on the way home at 9:15 pm.

Sunday morning at 10 am, we took the Twins to their FIRST ever parade. Pretty overwhelming for them, but it sure kept Charlie's attention.

More donuts at the parade for Ms. Lilly.

 Horses were a hit!

Go-Karts were pretty loud and intense, but it made me feel like a kid again.

After the parade we proceeded down to the food vendors, and had some AWESOME Burgers with Gma and Gpa.

While the kids napped, I snuck back down to a quilt auction at 2pm. I am in the market for a new quilt for our guest bedroom. They had some lovely quilts to auction off, and I have a special place in my heart for homemade quilts, I am not sure where this obsession came from. I think it is a combination of things, but it is pretty weird for me. Long story short, the King Size quilt I had my eye on for maybe "our" bed, went for $900! Needless to say, I walked out of there empty handed.  It was fun though, I love listening to auctioneers, even though I understand 1 in 8 words that flow out of their mouth.

Where Did This Fall Weather Come From?

The fall like weather we got a touch of last week, was sure a shock to our systems. These two haven't had to wear jackets in MONTHS, and they look a bit confused as well.

As, I have always stated. I LOVE FALL. Hands down my favorite season!

I can't wait for Apple Orchards, Hay Rides, Leave Jumping, Apples, Cider Beer, Football,  Etc...

I am not sure I have mentioned to you, but Charlie LOVES to help pick up Leni's dog poop. I hope this passion stays with him through the years, so I don't have to pull teeth for him to do Chores around the house.

Dad has been brushing up on his golf lately, in preparation for a golf tourney coming  up in September.

I think this little boy would be the cutest little Caddy!

The season's may change, but the Twins fighting over anything and everything will always stay constant.

Charlie's dramatic meltdowns, are pretty routine as well.

The downfall to the season change, is that the twins' noses have turned on, and we have some snot monsters on our hands.
