Windsor Pines

There is a place 244 miles south of here called Windsor Pines.

It is Grandpa Glen's Pride and Joy. It is in the VALLEY.
The roads to get there once you leave the Interstate are very curvy, and not usually paved. The sides of the roads are full of; Farms, Deer, Cows, Horses, Elk, you name it.
The kids and I ventured down there Friday after I got off work at 3pm. The Twins handled the long ride like champs! As we approached the entrance, Charlie made sure I was aware he was scared of that BEAR and the Scary Trees!

Beyond this gate is lots of fun, nature, animals, laughs, bugs, home cooked food, trout, endless supply of pop, beer, and booze.

Just another morning clearing of a snapper from the yard.
Lilly and Charlie got to spend time with all her favorite Aunties, Uncles, and Cousins!
Tire Swing!

Lilly was in heaven!

Such a Beautiful Place!
Lots of exploring...

Hide and Seek

This little boy was a bit cautious from time to time and needed extra "holding"

Grandma Pam has the cutest Thumbs.
Showing their true colors!

Walker showing off his soccer skills.

"Let me tell you a true story,"....... Often the start of Glen's stories.
Great Grandpa and Lilly bonded like GLUE!

Great Grandpa was showing her the "fish" in the lake. Which was really Trout in the Creek.

Great Grandpa even  helping keep the twins clean!
Uncle Chris loves this place!

Riding the 6 wheeler all over the place.
Bath time in a Claw Foot Tub.

This place ROCKS!

There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million. ~Walt Streightiff

Charlie is slowly becoming familiar with nature and is gaining lots of confidence. He gets close to the fenced in sheep now, and look below. He is letting a furry Caterpillar climb onto his hands.  Grandma Nellie will cringe at this picture and be reminded of the army worms that are thick in Stearn's County this year.

Children need the freedom and time to play.  Play is not a luxury.  Play is a necessity.

Words with Charlie

Two seconds ago I left Charlie's room. I walked across the downstairs and logged into my office computer so I don't forget to document this conversation.

Charlie was put to bed 20 min ago, and I realized he was not sleeping yet, so I went into his room to tuck him in for a 2nd time. This happens nightly.

I picked him up and hugged him for 1 min, and laid him back down. I situated his blankets, animals, rubber dinosaur, and such.
He looked up at me and said, " I want to cuddle with mommy"
It was so hard for me to say a flat out NO.
"No Charlie, Mommy has to work in the morning and I am tired, I need some rest"
Charlie looks up at me and says "Work? Mamma...... You work on farm mamma?"
"Do I work on a farm?" I questioned
"Yeah." he excitedly said.
"No Charlie I don't work on a farm, do you want to work on a farm some day?"
"Yeah, I work on farm, when I big and drive tractor." he replies as he grins through his pacifier.

#1 How cute is he?
#2 If you can tell your mom you want to work on a farm and drive a tractor, I think it is time to give up the pacifier...
#3 Days like today when I started out on the wrong foot with coughing fit from Lilly at 4am, and beating myself up over a $23 plant I already killed. I need to remember my son asking me if I work on a farm.
#4 Why is my son asking me if I work on a farm? Do I look like shit?

Meet My Little Tiger Lilly

So you know how you see something at the store and you MUST have it for yourself? Well having a little girl, is just as bad. I tend to see things in her tiny size, and I go crazy. I can't stop thinking about them. This outfit is one of them.

Grandma Pam got wind of my "wanting" and bought this at Baby Gap in Rochester and mailed it right up to Miss Lilly. How cute is she?

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~James Dent

This past weekend was Mother's Day, and boy were we blessed with AWESOME weather. I will post more pics later from the weekend.

For now, what is on my mind is the weather. It feels like summer. It is HOT out, and the AC is on. I really love summer, and I can't wait to sit at the beach and watch you guys burn off some energy, while the sun tries to burn your baby fresh skin. The sun will not win though in that battle. Aveeno SPF 55 every so often will keep you nice and BROWN!

I look forward to this summer, even though taking you places still requires lots of BAGGAGE! Like John Candy in Summer Rental hauling the kids to beach and trickling ice cold cooler water on all the patrons of the beach.

Heck, lastnight I even forgot to bring out diaper wipes to the back yard, and while changing Lilly from a Diaper to Swim Diaper we somehow encountered a turd of Lilly's laying in the grass, and one grossed out brother. We got it taken care of and soon the kids were running free in the sprinkler, but 12 hours later Charlie is still talking about Lilly pooping in the Grass.

I would of never imagined using a dog pooper scooper to clean up after Ms. Lilly, but I guess you never know. This parenting gig, is one hell of an extreme sport!

Life's A Beach

The minute I put this on, she demanded to go the BEACH. When she realized that was not happening, she wasn't very happy with me....

Farm Life

I read an article a couple weeks ago, about 8 things that EVERY kid should experience.

#1 Being part of a Team
#2 Camping
#3 Chores
#4 Snow
#5 Farm Life
#6 A Lemonade Stand
#7 Flying a Kite
#8 Bowling

I am pretty sure we bat #5 right out of the park! Grandpa Jeff's Farm is pretty neat.I didn't get pictures of ALL the animals but here are a few.

One of the handful of Llama's.

Charlie having a staring contest...
Sammy the cute Collie!
Our favorite time of year when all the new babies come!

Charlie is getting a lot more "comfortable" with these furry friends.

Viewer discretion below. As I was getting ready to leave last week with the kids, grandpa Jeff came running out of the shed shouting..we have another baby sheep. I ran in to view it, and snapped some pics. I definitely was not expecting it to be ORANGE!

This is a new goat. Doesn't have a name yet, but I think I will call him "Billy."
