15 week Ultrasound

We had our 15 week ultrasound and check up and everything looks good. They are about 5 inches long (not including legs…weird I know but that is what she said), and they are growing away. 15 weeks is a bit early to tell the sex but we have an idea of 1 at least…….. The first picture you 2 are Headbutting...
Baby A….we aren't sure she was leaning towards "BOY" but didn't feel 100% confident. We will know for sure in August hopefully. I assured the Tech, I would not "hold her to it" if she was wrong :)
Baby B….. B for BOY….we are pretty sure we saw "it"

Teeth and Hair for the Pair

This week you guys grew hair follicles and teeth sockets in your gums. I sure hope you have more hair than I did ....see above. Don't tell anyone but I actually think bald babies are cuter than babies with a lot of hair..just my preference :) Onto the teeth sockets..it is your cards that when you are teenager we will have to slap some metal brackets on those things to straighten them out. Why I know this? Both your dad and I were brace faces in High School. I hope we can get some on you in Jr. High...I felt like a late bloomer with braces up til 11th grade.

This week you guys made me pretty sick on Tuesday night and I stayed home from work on Wednesday. I slept a TON so I am sure that is what you guys needed. I'm sorry for making a joke today about "Recommending Adoption"..I promise I don't mean those things :)

Happy Birthday, Mom! (6-14-2009)

Hey kids! Yesterday was your Grandma Pam's bday. She turned 57 but looks 37. Your dad and I drove down to Rochester for the day and went out to eat with the family at Fisherman's Inn. We had a great meal. I had walleye, shrimp, and scallops. Don't worry that is my fish intake for the week so you don't get mercury poisoning. I can have it 1 time a week the Doctor says.

Anyways, I can't wait for you to meet my MOM. She will spoil you, and give me pointers when I don't know what the hell I am doing with you guys. hahah. Just Kidding, you are in great hands. I have done my share of babysitting back in the day. Your grandma Pam was a great Mom to your mommy. She raised 3 terrific kids, I was probably the weirdest one though, I will have to admit.

You guys have about 173 more days or so til you can come out and I can hold you. I can't wait, it has got to be much better out here, than it is in there.

Everything is Peachy

Coming up on 13 weeks!
Your babies are now the size of a peach, measuring just under 3 inches and weighing approximately a full ounce!
The most remarkable thing about week 13 is that their little bodies are finally starting to catch up to their head in size, as their head now only accounts for 1/3 of his total size. If you are having a girl or girls, she will have more than 2 million eggs in her ovaries by week 13.
Her teeth are in place under her gums, waiting to come out during teething, which can start as early as three months, or as late as twelve months. (Note: Some babies can even have one or two teeth showing when they are born!)
Veins and organs are visible through your baby's skin, which is still paper thin and transparent. Her intestines are forming villi, which aid in peristaltic movement and digestion, and her pancreas has even begun to secrete insulin!

Other Gifts

Like I said you have been getting gifts already. Here is a onsie grandma Pam sent us before she knew we were having 2! She also has bought us, diapers, wipes, blankets, hats, onsies, etc. Ang also bought us onsies, hats, and socks. We are so lucky! Grandma Nellie bought mom a nice willow tree figurine, and aunt Angie let me borrow some nice books to help with the pregnancy and to help pick names for you guys.

I will buy more stuff when I know if you guys are boys, girls, or both!!

Aunt Jen

Here is that picture of Jen and I when I was little. I am having trouble figuring out this "blogger" and I can't really just insert pictures wherever..I need to figure that out.

Monkeys!

Congrats Kiddos we have made it through the first trimester. We are are week 12 this week. This weekend was very nice and low key. Saturday morning I got up at 7:45 and went to the farmer's market with Kristin. I had never been to the big one in MPLS, and it was BIG. Lot's of fun stuff to look at, eat, etc. It was cold and rainy though. I saw a lot of people there with children that looked so cold, I will never do that to you guys. Saturday afternoon Kristin and I met up with Brooke, Noah and Zirbes at the Southdale Mall. We had a nice lunch with them at the Cheesecake Factory. I hope you enjoyed the lettuce wraps as much as I did. We did a little shopping and then came home. I watched some good movies yesterday. "He's Just Not That Into You" is pretty good. If one of you in there is a girl, you would enjoy it when you are about 24 years old.

Today (Sunday) I slept in..way in. Very nice! Then I went to Target to get some groceries, deodorant, mascara, etc. I almost swung through the baby aisle but I didn't this time :) I baked this afternoon, too. Banana Bread, Apple Crisp, Carrot Cake Cupcakes, and Cheesy Hash browns for supper. Dad grilled burgers. I am stuffed and thinking I should take the dog out for a walk...but it is so cold and dreary out. We will see.

You kids are already getting gifts/clothes already from family and friends. So fun...above are a pair of monkey's your great aunt Jen bought you guys. The sit on our buffet in the living room right now, but I can't wait to find the perfect spot for them in your nursery. Your great aunt Jen is the best. She is a second mom to me and I can't wait to tell you stories about her. I will post a picture of her and I when I was a baby. I am sure she will smoosh your faces just like this..but it really means love, I promise.

Just another Manic MONDAY....

I had a nice weekend. Friday I went min golfing and to HH. got home about 6 or so, had one O'Doul's and it was pretty nasty.

Saturday I did some cleaning of the babies room and cleaned out the closet. Saturday night Adam and I went to olive garden, babies r us, and rented a movie. New in Town with Renee Zellwigger, it was filmed in New Ulm good movie. We got the movie The Rocker, too but the disk was scratched so we couldn't watch it.

I went to see Lilly yesterday. She is doing pretty good. She didn't really know who I was. She said I wasn't Mandy cuz Mandy doesn't have Long Hair... I just let her talk about people from the past than I have no idea who they are. She tried to go into someone else's room and steal chocolate, I had to stop her and she was like a kid. I got home from there around 3 or so. Whenever I make the trip to Taylor's Falls, it is like a trip down memory lane. We visited grandma Lilly a lot when we were little and I will never forget the smell of her farm house at 20060 ST. Croix Trail North. Her house never changed from year to year, and smelt of wood burning stove. That was her hobby, keeping that wood stove plump full of wood. The old chicken coop was turned into the "wood shed." Lilly was the best cook, baker, and grandma ever. I never thought Alzheimer's would make her this "helpless." I can still see the good ol' Lilly in her though. She is still one to crack jokes and make funny comments. Grandpa Harold died in 1987 when I was 6, so I never got a chance to bond with him as much as I did Lilly. Erick and I are her only grandchildren but we love her as much as 30 grandchildren would.
