You guys got Baptized this past weekend and it was a lot of fun. The whole family came on up and we had a big ol' brunch to celebrate! You guys did great and were troopers. Mom and Lilly went to bed by 7:30...and Charlie and Dad at 8pm on Sunday...

You guys made a haul in gifts, too! Lots of Savings Bonds, Money, Picture Frames, Books, Folding Lawn Chair, keepsake spoons, Quilt/Wall Hanging, Crosses, Jewelry Box, Football, etc....

So with that said.... THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!

19 Weeks old!

You will be 5 months old on Monday! I thought I better get this posted before it is too late. Baptism is coming up this Sunday! I look forward to getting lots of good photos of you two and your "duds".... aka cute outfits.

It is Thursday evening and I am usually watching my show Greys Anatomy but it isn't on this week. Bummer. I had to rock both of you to sleep tonight, too. That doesn't happen very often but I enjoyed it. Just don't get used to it :)

Classic Movie

I know I referred to the movie Forest Gump last week, but I have to do it again. When I put this outfit on you Lilly I just thought of another classic movie that I watched numerous times as a child. It is a very funny movie and I hope you can watch it with me someday and not think it is an OLD TIME MOVIE!!

This cute little outfit was bought by your Grandma Pam. The hat is pretty tight on you already but I know this outfit will get it use this summer!

Pigs!

When I first starting feeding you cereal and baby food, I did my best to keep it as "clean" as possible. That lasted about a week, and then I realized I just need to get the job DONE and then clean it up all at the end. This is something I am slowly adapting too. See your mom doesn't like to have things TOTALLY out of order and I like to keep up with being clean, laundry, dishes, etc... I am slowly realizing I need to RELAX a bit and I can do all this at the end of the day when you guys are sleeping. Give me time...this is all new to me.

Driver's Ed...

I know you will not go to driver's education for another 15 years Lilly, but I hope you are a better driver than you are "scooter on the floor"...

Just a couples days after this picture was taken your brother started to roll over, too. No way was he gonna lay there and let you roll all over him.

Putting on the miles!

Hey kids you guys are really putting on the miles in this car. Grandma Nellie bought it a couple years ago for Regan. We are very lucky to have Regan share her things with us!

Buddies

You two are really starting to notice and stare at eachother. It is so cute and precious watching you guys interact now. I know it is just a matter of time before you are laughing and smiling at eachother.

They say a bond between twins is indescribable, and I hear stories that make me so anxious to watch you guys grow up and love eachother. I know there will be tears, fights, and battle wounds, but that is all part of it. I think of growing up and how much fun I had with my siblings and I can't wait for you two to feel that bond and excitement.

One of my favorite movies is Forest Gump and in the movie Forest doesn't have a sister but a very close friend named Jenny and they have the cutest bond. I hope one day you guys can say... "we are like peas and carrots"....

Keep On Rollin....

Well little girl, you have been coming so close to rolling over but that ONE shoulder kept getting in the way and not letting you roll completly over. YOu would get so close and the scream out of frustation and excitment.

Today as I pulled into my parking ramp at work I heard my phone ring. I picked it up and saw a missed call from "Adam".. The only reason he would call me is to ask me a question on where something is for the kids, or I forgot something. I called him back immediately.

"Lilly rolled over this morning all the way, "....he said happily. " I was putting Charlie in his car seat though so I didn't see her."

So pretty much the only witness to this milestone is our Dog. Owell, we can't be there for everything but I am anxious to get home and play the rollover game after work.

Your brother is pretty content on just laying on his back and playing with whatever toy we place upon his tummy. He is a strong boy though so when he decides he wants to I am sure he will "Just Do It" as Nike says.

Playing Around

So the first couple months of the Twins lives I really didn't take time to play with them a TON, as I was so tired. But Saturday morning before Lilly and I hit the road I attempted to dress her up and do my own "photo shoot"...here is the masterpiece.

3 Weeks vs. 18 Weeks....

Not much to say here, people.... WOW.

Match

A lot of people with same sex twins get the luxury of matching their twins to the "T"... Same exact thing.

Well we can't really do that unless we settle for something..Neutral or what I would call... Kind of Boring. Thanks to Carter's and other great companies for their marketing efforts, we can still pretty much match you guys but it is just gender appropriate. So Charlie's may have a Monkey and Stripes, while Lilly has a Kitty and Polka Dots. I think it is so cute still!

How Are They Sleeping???

As a parent I never realized this was the question that EVERYONE asks when they talk about your new babies. They ask it with the concerned look on their face as they probably know the answer. To tell you truth I HATED this question for the first 3 months... Why? Because you were not sleeping through the night and I hated having to talk about it with EVERYONE a couple times a day. I knew the day would come sooner or later but having to say "Nope, they get up 2 to to 3 times a night"..got to me. I think I was just so tired and crabby I hated talking about it, but I know they were just asking out of "concern."

Well I can now proudly say you little peanuts now sleep from 8 to 6 pretty much. Little Lilly wakes up for her pacifier now and then but hey...I will take 8 to 6 ANYDAY! Good Job kids, I am a much happier Mamma with sleep.

Going forward when mommies friends have babies, I am going to try not to ask the dreaded "Sleep question..." As I prpobably know the answer and will just talk about how cute they are :)

Lilly:

Weight: 12lbs 13 oz (25-50%)
Weight: 22 3/4 inches (5th %)
Head: 16 1/8 inches (50%)

Charlie:
Weight: 13lbs 8 oz (25%)
Height: 23 7/8 inches (25%)
Head: 17 inches (75%)

The percents after the stats are the Percentiles they are in compared to other kids their age. They are pretty average... Charlie has a larger head and Lilly is pretty darn short :)

You guys checked out great per Dr. Koch! He said to have fun playing around with fruits, veggies, and cereal.


Shots went ok, the last 2 made the both SCREAM! I handled Charlie and Dad handled Lilly.






You guys have pretty much doubled your birth weights. Way to go!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Kiddos! This was your first Easter and you did great. We traveled up to Gpa and Gma Mergen's on Saturday and stayed the night. You guys got your first Easter Baskets from Gma Nellie. Cousin Regan helped you "find" them this morning. Instead of a bunch of unhealthy candy you got FORMULA..Mamma loves that. You also got some nice outfits to rock out in this spring/summer!

Easter last year was quite the Easter as well. The Friday before "good Friday" your mom took her first over the counter pregnancy test and was pretty sure it read "POSITIVE"... Then 3 years ago your Dad and I got engaged on "good Friday" and told everyone about us getting married on Easter. Something about Easter Kids.... This Easter no exciting news, but we are just thrilled to be your parents. Little tired....but thrilled.. thrilled, thrilled.

First Twins Game of the Year

Not only is this the start to the baseball season in MN, but our team "The Twins" how ironic...have a new stadium. I know everyone talks down on their old stadium the "The Metrodome" or "The Dome"..but I didn't mind it.

As a kid I went to many Twins games there with family, friends, field trips, etc... You guys will never get to experience the "tornado" when you leave the dome. I don't the exact reason for this happending but when you would leave the dome it would blow you right out the door and if you weren't careful you could get hurt!

I can't wait to take you guys to baseball games. The new stadium is OUTDOORS, too. So I will make sure to pack..SPF, Umbrella, Rain Ponchos, Gloves, Hat's, Mittens, Sunglasses, etc..who knows what the heck the weather will be like..

Above is a picture of the DOME..it wil still be used for Minnesota Viking Football games, but no longer for the Gopher's or Twins!!...
