Things Do Not Always Go As Planned

Lastnight at 7:00pm a Classic Cartoon was on the TV. Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer. It was Tuesday, so I was single mom til 7:25pm. I fed you a hearty dinner filled with Reese's Puff Cereal, and warm Toaster Strudels. I had you guys in the tub by 6:00pm, to ensure you were clean, sleepered, lotioned, and ready to take it all in with the gleaming Christmas Tree in the background.

Bath time ended pretty fast once Lilly crapped in the tub. It was like a scene from a horror movie, when parents are thrashing to save their children. I pulled both kids out of the tub and pulled the plug to do an emergency DRAIN!. I thought about posting the picture of it, but do not want to ruin your lunch.
I got you kids ready for Rudolph, and had the tub soaking in bleach so we don't have an outbreak in Ecoli next week.

The opening scene started to play, and I felt my childhood come back for a moment until Lilly screamed...

Birthday and Christmas Month is Near

Kids we have something in common. We both have birthdays the same month as Christmas. As everything in life it has it's benefits and disadvantages. As a child though you will only feel the benefits as you get a TRUCK LOAD of presents that month. We celebrated your birthday a tad early this past weekend with the Rochester crew since we were at Gma Pam's for Thanksgiving anyways. Doll House that is the same height as you, with TONS of things to go inside. A work bench, new clothes, jammies, play horses, games, legos, etc.  What a great start, huh!

Blog Pics From Gma Pam's Computer

I am blogging from Gma Pam's laptop, sitting downstairs by the fire place, kids are napping and Ayva and Maya are attempting to play Gma Pam's new Wii. It is relaxing and entertaining at the sametime. The pictures below are in no order they are random ones I have found on her laptop of the Twins.

It is always fun tapping into others cute pictures!

Gobble Gobble

I am thankful for so many things this time of year. It seems as the years go by I add more and more to my list. The older I get the more I realize though...

"The best things in life aren't things"

The best things in life, are watching two little children grow up and become "Mini Yous"
The best things in life, are hearing sweet innocent voices say "Wuv ooooo"
The best things in life, are opening their bedroom door in morning and having them shout "Mornin!"
The best things in life, walking through gma's door after an 8 hour work day and have them run to you with open arms yelling "Mamma!"
The best things in life, are watching one twin kiss the other goodnight.

You get my drift, I could go on and on, so I better stop.

Weekend Recap

If the kids won't eat, I add condiments to their tray and it prompts them to Dip and Devour. Yesterday Lilly ate Molasses Cookies and dipped them in Ranch. She also dipped grapes and hard boiled eggs in Ranch. The ranch was meant for the chicken nuggets but she chose "all of the above." As did Charlie. He dipped his green beans in Ranch, too. See below. For some reason I think he dipped his face in the ranch when my back was turned.
So going into the weekend we didn't have much planned. However the snowfall, and driver who took out the light pole down by school changed that pretty quick. No power from 1pm to 11pm Saturday meant a spontaneous sleepover Gma and Gpa Mergen's!
Above you can see "A Few Of My Favorite Things." Vince Vaughn and Snugly Sleep Babies. (Minus the sick part)
Sunday Lilly battled a cold, and got to nap with me while I watch Christmas Movies in bed. She still has it today but is doing pretty good.  Not my favorite weekend in the books, but you can't win them all, right.

We did get our Tree up though, so that was a BONUS!

Sucess

It worked!  Back to work I go.

Test

This is a test...I am attempting my first blog entry from my mobile device.

Friday Phone Dump

I am happy, and giddy. I have a new toy for myself. My first ever smart phone(Happy Early Birthday To Me!).
This thing connects me to world. I now have a better camera on my phone. This camera on my phone has higher mega pixels than my actual digital camera from August 2006. I can take pictures and send them to a storing station to be ready to dump into my blog, too. So much more efficient. What will I do with all my spare time now? Ummm probably play Angry Birds on my phone.  I got the phone yesterday evening, and played around with it lastnight and this morning.

Building Forts between the couch and buffet is there new favorite past time.

I can "edit" pics directly from my phone.

Don't let the shirt fool you!

TGIF! I wonder how many pics I take of these two this weekend?

Confession

I am not a perfect MOM or Housewife.
I force my son to take pictures even when he is not "all for it"

I love the quote above, and I hope I can really get this through the Twins heads in the upcoming  years.
How cute is this shirt though, it makes him look so school like, and smart!

Maybe he will follow in Auntie Tracee's footsteps and attend Harvard Law?

I also sometimes put left overs in the cupboard instead of the refrigerator, only to have my husband find them 15 days later!
OOOOOOPPPPS and GROSS!

Getting Outside

Saturday I forced the kids outside to play, knowing that we do not have many more days like this ahead. I let them play while I drank my coffee and monitored the dog, as he likes to test his boundaries from time to time.

Wonder how big she will look on this Dora car next spring?

I think next summer you will be too small for a big bike, so maybe trikes are our next step? I have no idea, I am new at this so if any parents out there recommend a trike/bike for 2 1/2  year olds,  shoot them my way please so I can forward the picture onto Santa. wink wink.

"Boy with Bear on Head"

I have two hats for Charlie from last winter, they fit but are a bit snug. Baby Gap and Gap has 40% off this weekend if you used your GAP charge. We ventured to the Mall Saturday afternoon after nap. After belly laughing, snorting, and laughing myself to tears in the middle of the store. I gave in and got two due to my indecisiveness.

I love this hat. Although I feel he is ignoring me with headphones on, and I am pretty sure that stage comes later on in life, right.

Then we have the FUR hat. This is what sent Keillor and I into tears laughing at how funny/cute/hilarious this hat below is. Pretty sure it will come in handy when it is 35 below though. Charlie has a pretty mean GROWL to go along with this hat as well.

Charlie's Indian name going forward is "Boy with Bear on Head"

Put On Your Thiking Cap...

It's the time of the year when you start thinking about lots of things. What to buy others for Xmas, what you hope you get for Xmas, what you will wear on Xmas Day, What you will wear on Thanksgiving, and WHAT SHOULD I DO FOR OUR XMAS CARD THIS YEAR?

Growing up when I would go down to my dad's house on the weekends, I dreaded the time of year when Mary would come out of her sewing room and show us what matching outfits we had to wear for that years photo shoot. Looking back at all the different ideas, I am so happy she did this. However, if you could "Turn Back Time" like Cher. You would notice that all of our photo sessions ended in crying and fits due to Mary taking 89 pics. See back then we did not have digital cameras so you couldn't view the picture to make sure it turned out. You snapped away, dropped the roll off at the local drugstore and 2 days later got to see your work of art.

I have lots of photos saved on our computer from January 1, 2011 up until now, now my dilema is what couple do I used out of the thousand to send out to family. I may do a couple different ones if I can't decide.

Peas Be With You....

And Also With You...

Reminds me I should get you guys to church one of these Sundays. Whose comin' with me???!!!

Anyways, Lilly likes peas. She likes them alot. I grab the container out of the fridge and she chants .. Peas Peas Peas..like a frat boy at a keg party.

Eat away child, eat away. I know the day will come when you demand a snickers for dinner, so I will let you eat all the PEAS you want while I can.

Almost 2....

In ONE month from today you guys will turn 2 years old. The first year was hard and kind of went by slow for me, but the 2nd year FLEW by very fast. I thought about it this weekend and thought... "Wonder what my mom will think when I turn 31 next month"...  I am sure it was just yesterday that her girls looked like this. (Below)

Now look at us!

Saturday Matinee

I uploaded some videos this afternoon/evening and started to get my videos of you guys under control. Technology is a great thing, but keeping it organized and backed up is a 2nd job. You never know if and when the world wide web will eat your work/videos/pictures/or BLOG. Reason #45 I need to get this thing in print form ASAP!

Anyways here are some videos from this past week. Tickle Time. Charlie Watching Horse Racing. Twins saying "HUH?"

Video 1 Tickle Time

Video 2 Charlie Watching Horse Races

Video 3 Twins Saying "Huh"

Enjoy.

TGIF!

The weekend is here and we don't have a ton on the agenda either! Dad's on call so we are sticking close to home.  That means lots of 1:1 time with my little munchkins!
We will just roll with it and go with the flow and do what we want, when we want.
Speaking of Roll, let's look at Lilly Jean back in 2010 when she started to roll over herself. This picture is one of my many favorites of Lilly.

Thursday Thoughts

After I started editing this picture, I saw something in the background. OMG, people are going to think I clean my offspring with Soft Scrub!

Please know that the soft scrub was left there the other day when I attempted to scrub my shower. I didn't get very far when I realized how hard that job really is!  I hope Santa blesses me with a cleaning lady. Hint Hint Hubby
Although Charlie and Lilly were cleaning it lastnight with their toothbrushes. GAG!

I purchased my first bottle of "Johnson No More Tears" for this little girl last Thursday when I was roaming around Walmart looking for Halloween treat bags to bring to the daycare friends. Her hair is getting longer and longer every week. I am not looking forward to snarls. She still has perfect soft shiny manageable hair, but I know that doesn't last forever.

Thought I would throw in a picture from earlier this year as well.

Happy Halloween!

I don't think you "got it" this year but we still had a good time lastnight.

You rocked your glow in the dark outfits to daycare, and brought treat bags. Something I forgot last Halloween and Easter as I was new to this Mom with kids in daycare thing.  I got this down now though.

I was not sure how Lilly was going to handle her costume, as she had a mini meltdown but it didn't last long.

This first house we attempted had their lights on but nobody home, owell we got a cute picutre on their front step I guess.

Pretty cute Grateful Dead Dancing Bear Family, huh :)

Lilly wasn't too happy at first but she pulled through.

I love her eyes in this picture. The fact I got this good of shot with a camera that is considered ancient pretty much makes me smile.

Our neighbors go ALL OUT decorating for Halloween and Christmas and I LOVE IT. Their lights are tuned to music you can tune your car radio to 107.3, it is pretty sweet!
