Word Of The Day

TEAMWORK:

Have you ever seen those motivational pictures in Executives offices or Doctor's offices? They tend to have a scenic picture with a big powerful motivational saying at the bottom? I think this one would be cuter than a picture of a grizzly bear perched on a Rock in Upper Alaska waiting for a Salmon to jump out of the water with the word "Challenge" at the bottom.

Kodak Smile?

With the traveling this past weekend to St. Micheal and back on Saturday and to Monticello and back on Sunday... we had some fun in the car as you can see.

Weekend Recap

It is Sunday evening at 8:02 and we have you two in bed. I am uploading pics, editing pics, and blogging. I can hear Charlie doing his routine snuggle/moan into his blankets so it is just a matter of time before he is off to the land of baby dreams.

What a weekend..... We stayed busy, played outside, stayed up til 9:30 pm lastnight, got Max baptized, attended Tyler's graduation party in Monticello today, ate at Le Ann Chin's (plan was Chipotle but the line was too long), changed Charlie's outfit mid errand run due to a leaky diaper, salvaged Lilly's freshly drawn bath water by catching 2 turds of poop as they fell out of her butt... I saved that really graphic line for last to see who really reads this... ha ha.

Yes, today Lilly woke up an hour before Charlie did from her nap. I tried to get her to go back to sleep with me in our bed, but that just led to tickles and giggles. I decided to put my make up on for Tyler's graduation party and I thought I could let the dad rest if I let Lilly take a bath while I got ready.

See, I had just turned the water off as it was just the right depth for her. I got all her toys down for her to play with. She stood up and I thought, "oh no she sat on the giraffe and it is sticking out of her butt cheek.... then I realized it was not the giraffe. It was a turd! In panic mode I put my hand down there and caught it....then I saw another one coming..and put my 2nd hand down there and caught the other one. I instantly tossed them in the toilet, wiped her butt, washed my hands, and let her go on with her bath. Might make some of you gag, but it makes me laugh as I picture myself looking like juggler doing this.

I got some pretty cute pics over the weekend, here are some, and the rest will be on facebook.

I made Adam dress to match Charlie's new Old Navy outfit.

It is now 8:21pm and Charlie you are fighting going to bed, but I'm sorry.... you need to sleep. See you in the morning.

Privacy...

You aren't allowed in "my office" very often, and sometimes I sneak away and try to get things done with you home even though I am not "on the clock". You guys are getting smarter and smarter and are pretty good at finding me.

Your daddy tells me stories of when he is little and his mom "hiding" in his dad's office to get a break from the kids. He said Gma Nellie would sneak into PaPa's office and sit in the corner where they couldn't find her. I understand 100% why she would do this.

Half Birthday

Last Tuesday we celebrated your half birthday! I can understand why some parents have an all out half bday party for their kids if they are born around Xmas. You guys are dumped with gifts in December and have to wait 365 more days for it to happen again. You do get pretty spoiled all year round though so I don't feel totally bad for you. Last weekend we traveled to Rochester for cousin Katie's Wedding. You guys came back with lots of goodies from Gma Pam, and Auntie Jen.

We celebrated your half birthday on 6-7-2011 with a nice dinner and cupcakes from the Cold Spring Bakery. I made Swordfish Steaks and Rice for Dad and I. You guys got Ravioli...messy but yummy.

So now when I am in public and asked... "how old?"... I have to get used to saying ONE & A HALF!

Happy Birthday Gma Pam!

He's Back...

Charlie has kicked Pneumonia and an ear infection and his back to normal! Pretty ironic given we were in this position last June as well. Click Here

I am not doctor but I think you guys have allergies in the spring that lead to wheezing in June... We will see how next June goes. We have sure gotten our use out the good ol' Nebulizer though. The thing works wonders to helping kiddos breathe though.

My Little Lady

Although when you are outside you could easily be called a Tom Boy by the love you have of eating dirt, eating sand, digging, dumping sand in your hair, etc.

During supper time you amaze me with your cleanliness. You prefer to eat everything and anything with a fork, even your goldfish :) I figured out that you tend to eat more if you have your trusty fork :) Charlie is getting the hang of it I think, thanks to you big sister, Lilly.

And yes....you use your left hand a lot. I know this doesn't mean you are left handed, but I hear from family members that I would do the same exact thing and I ended up a righty. Not sure if that is by chance or the fact that Grandma Lilly would take the fork out of my left hand and place it in my right to correct me.

"You don't want her to be left handed," she would preach.

Good Girl... I mean Dog

Lilly handled Charlie's sickness just fine. She was ok with the extra attn. he received. When she needed more attention from me, she would just get on all 4's and pant like a dog and act like my puppy. I milked this to the extreme. I would pet her, and tell her how good of a dog she is. I would hold her and say "i love you puppy".. She loved every bit of it. I can tell her imagination is starting to TAKE OFF. I predict I am playing house with her within' 4 months.

Great Grandma Carol gave Lilly this blanket below. It has become our FAKE BED in the living room. The cool thing about this blanket is that, Gma Pam made it years back for GMA Carol. Gma Carol thought it would be nice for Lilly to have it, and I couldn't agree anymore. Thanks GMA CAROL! I know you and Gpa read this!! Hope you are feeling better.

Charlie Update

I knew something was not right when Charlie was up every 35 minutes last Thursday night. Friday morning when we were getting him ready for the day, we realized he was wheezing terribly and was running a fever. I decided it was time to take my little man into Urgent Care. This could of happened on a different day if you ask me though. Friday was the first Friday Gma Nellie was off and we had Shannon coming to babysit that day. Instead of dumping Lilly on Shannon and taking off to St. Cloud with Charlie, I just had Shannon come with me to the doctor and she hung out with Lilly in the waiting room. See Lilly needs abut 47 minutes to get used to new people and situations...

The doctor listened to Charlie's lungs and immediately sent Charlie and I down for Chest Xray. Oh and also told me he had an ear infection in his left year and confirmed a 101 Temperature.

The twins had never had to have one of these done. I didn't know what we were in for. I assumed he would lay on a table and they would snap a picture. WRONG WRONG WRONG. Instead I had to help the RN cram my 23.1 lb son into this machine and then leave the room while they took the XRAY. I stood outside the door with my head hung low... Sad for my son, and embarrassed when people walked by thinking "oh lord, listen to that mad child." When I heard the nurse ok me to re-enter I flung the door open and saw Charlie flapping his hands at me like "Help Help.".. The picture below is NOT Charlie but here is the device..

We then checked his Oxygen level, which was good. Did a nebulizer treatment there, and rechecked his Oxygen level which was still good. She kind of scared me when she hinted at the idea of him needing to stay overnight if his Oxygen level was low. It wasn't though, so that was assuring. We were given our RX and headed to Target.

Diagnosed With: Ear Infection and Pneumonia. ( I can ever remember how to spell that damn word either.)

I fed the kids and Shannon lunch, and then worked the rest of the afternoon. This Friday will be Shannon's 2nd Friday babysitting and I plan and hope it is more of a typical day.
I do need to take Charlie in for a recheck, but I might wait til the week of June 13th for that.

Charlie is on the upswing and getting back into the swing of things..

Ramen Noodles

If these are still around in 17 years, you will have your fill of them sitting in a dorm room that is for sure. You will be craving your mom's homemade cooking and have to settle on these things. I took me 6 years after college to start craving them again. Cheap and Filling Meal. Fun to eat, too! You thought I was the best when I put mounds of worm like things on your tray.
