Saturday Night Photo Dump

I am  having lots of fun with my new camera..

This picture of Lilly above is a spit-n-image of me when I was younger and I also see a bit of Grandma Pam in her.

They were having a fun time tackling each other.

I was letting them CHARGE at me to test out my fast shutter speed.

 Happy Kids!

Charlie giving Lilly a ride Friday evening.

I gave Charlie carpet burn tonight. They like this game where you pull them around on a big blanket. I didn't realize Charlie's right cheek was rubbing on the carpet. It looks worse than it is, but I felt kind of bad for letting it happen.

Kids: they dance before they learn there is anything that isn't music. ~William Stafford

Charlie looking like Indiana Jones...

Within minutes he transformed into Elton John. I should get this young lad into Theatre, don't you think?

Photo Bomb

Photo Bomb: When somebody jumps in a picture at the last minute to "ruin" it. In our case, it was our DOG taking a pee on the neighbor's tree behind us. Kids like to act silly these days.

We still managed to play outside a little this evening, even though it had a chill to the air causing Lilly to have "snot nose"

"You is kind. You is smart. You is important." -Aibilene Clark (The Help)

This little honey, rocking her shades makes me grin from the inside out. Even  if her attitude matches the look, I still smile.

Her "sassyness," while she eats chips with her shades on, singing a song, and nodding her head back and forth makes me  almost choke on my diet coke.

The fact that she wore these shades all Friday evening tops the cake. Home depot visit and all.

This little boy also has some STYLE, wouldn't you say?!

Having a two-year-old is like having a blender that you don't have the top for. ~Jerry Seinfeld

Not only are you guys growing into bigger pants, socks, shirts, diapers, coats, shoes, etc...

You are growing to the next size slide at the park. Not ready to tackle this slide alone yet, but you sure love the thrill of flying down this with your daddy.

I can only imagine the butterflies it creates in your tummy as you approach the bottom. This slide is pretty steep. I will try to get a side shot for you next time so you can see for yourself.  Charlie asks to go to the PAWK any chance he has.

In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt. ~Margaret Atwood

We have a the pleasure of saving a couple thousand dollars on a jungle gym in our yard, due to our neighborhood having a nice jungle gym, just a HOP SKIP, and a JUMP away.

I hope to bring my good camera next time to get some good action shots.  Charlie face when he approaches the bottom of this HUGE slide is priceless.

I thought by telling them we got to go home and take a bath, it would make leaving the part a bit easier. NOPE! This little girl wanted to stay here! Her exact words "No...me stay here...pray wif friendsss"  Pray=Play

Sick and Tired....

The kids are sick and I am tired. This weekend really wasn't one for the books for me. Charlie got sick Saturday morning, and we ended up in urgent care yesterday with an ear infection. Lilly has been hanging on like a trooper, but her cold is settling into her lungs causing a not so pleasant HACK.

Charlie puked and passed out before NOON on St. Patty's Day. What a Rookie!
We still grilled out and had the fam over for NCAA Wrestling Finals though, so that was a nice break in the weekend. Pretty good ending, as the Minnesota Heavy Weight took the TITLE! (Hope I worded that right, I am still learning wrestling lingo/scoring/etc.)

Last week I even picked up St. Patty's Day Gear for all the cousins in hope to get a SUPER cute picture. Charlie barfed on his shirt not once but TWICE. My plan failed and above is what we had to settle for.

Let's hope Lilly's fairy powers can make the sickness disappear.

My kids never sleep in the car, so when Charlie passed out on the commute home from St. Cloud, I knew he was definitely not feeling well.

Let's hope my posts get a little more happier this week.....

Funny Friday

So last weekend when Ms. Lilly was prancing around Rochester in her cowboy hat, I couldn't help but think of how much her Great Grandpa's Brother would be so proud of her. See the man above, he is Great Grandpa's Baby Brother. He is very well known in Austin, MN. Good Ol' Uncle Lowell. He always arrives to any family functions sporting a nice suit coat with a nice Cowboy hat as an accessory.

When we were little we referred to him as Uncle "Odie." I can't remember why though....

Have a great weekend!

Spring is nature's way of saying, "Let's party!" ~Robin Williams

I love the age where they think cleaning and helping out grandma is "fun." I know it doesn't last but it is pretty cute for now. This girl loved picking up the sticks and handing them to Grandma to throw over the fence to the animals. She wasn't quite courageous enough yet to put them through the holes in the fence quite yet, due to the jumping puppies on the other side that were so eager to play fetch.

Lastnight I did something that I feel bad about. After dinner and bath at about 7:05 I snuck out of the house with just Lilly and Leni and took a stroll around our neighborhood. Lilly smelled of fresh lavender baby lotion and was in a cozy fleece sleeper even.

I assumed Charlie would be fine and enjoy 1:1 time with daddy. When I arrived home and was greeted by his tear filled eyes, I knew I had done wrong and really hurt a little boys feelings. Never again. The fact I was told he was looking all over the house for me and asking to go outside and find me, makes me feel like a terrible lady.

Happy Feet!

Today I had 1 hour to kill while waiting for my new glasses to be ready. I knew Happy Feet 2 came out on DVD today. I am not sure who is more excited, the Twins or I! Happy Feet is so cute, and I love the music in it.
Today I had the joy of getting my eyes dilated. Keep in mind it is a nice BRIGHT and sunny day and 62 degrees out.
The Sun, plus these pupils below didn't mix very well.

I am definitely looking forward for some outside evening playtime with the kiddos tonight!

Weekend Recap

Grandpa Brekke turned 79 on Saturday!

I hope to look that good at age 79. Not sure if the Twins will allow that though.

Charlie and Lilly found hats at Gma Pam's and insisted they wore them to lunch.

Charlie looked Amish and Lilly looked like a cowgirl.

Lilly even perfected the "hee haw!"

At 9:11 that night Lori had her baby boy! March 10th is a good day to be born!

Good weekend, as always I still want to kick the guy/gal who invented Daylight Savings Time. ONE hour makes a huge difference on 2 year olds and their tired Mamma. It probably didn't help I let them skip nap yesterday either. Owell....it was worth every minute!

TGIF!

TGIF! We love weekends more and more around here. Knowing next week is going to be in the 60's makes me giddier than this little girl above!

I LOVE YOU TWO TO THE MOON AND BACK!

When you two were infants, I felt I NEVER really got 1:1 time with either one of you. As you get older and your attentions spans increase, it allows me to suck up 1:1 time from time to time.

The picture above Charlie is in front of us on the floor paying close attention to some  cartoon we haven't watched much before, so he is totally sucked in. Lilly is cuddling into me after she took a fall chasing her brother and smacked her mouth on the corner of the ottoman. I heard it, and was so scared to look in her mouth thinking she would not have front teeth. I am really enforcing the NO RUNNING inside from here on out.

The picture above with Charlie was taken this past Saturday when I was home alone with the twins. I could be really funny and tell you Lilly took it, but that would be a lie. Lilly was downstairs playing and I was trying out the timer setting on the camera.

Day With Mom

This past Saturday, your dad went down to the state wrestling tournament in St. Paul with Gpa Jeff. That meant you two got a WHOLE day with me. Sometimes that thought overwhelms me a bit, but we had a great day together.

Last week, I upgraded the car seats in Dad's car so we had some over sized boxes in our living room half of the week/weekend to play with. I couldn't help but think of little homeless people living boxes when I was snapping these shots.
Sometimes pictures are just taken at the "Perfect" or "Imperfect" time, and this picture below makes me smile, and I am sure will make Charlie kick me in the shin someday.
