The doctor listened to Charlie's lungs and immediately sent Charlie and I down for Chest Xray. Oh and also told me he had an ear infection in his left year and confirmed a 101 Temperature.
The twins had never had to have one of these done. I didn't know what we were in for. I assumed he would lay on a table and they would snap a picture. WRONG WRONG WRONG. Instead I had to help the RN cram my 23.1 lb son into this machine and then leave the room while they took the XRAY. I stood outside the door with my head hung low... Sad for my son, and embarrassed when people walked by thinking "oh lord, listen to that mad child." When I heard the nurse ok me to re-enter I flung the door open and saw Charlie flapping his hands at me like "Help Help.".. The picture below is NOT Charlie but here is the device..
We then checked his Oxygen level, which was good. Did a nebulizer treatment there, and rechecked his Oxygen level which was still good. She kind of scared me when she hinted at the idea of him needing to stay overnight if his Oxygen level was low. It wasn't though, so that was assuring. We were given our RX and headed to Target.
Diagnosed With: Ear Infection and Pneumonia. ( I can ever remember how to spell that damn word either.)
I fed the kids and Shannon lunch, and then worked the rest of the afternoon. This Friday will be Shannon's 2nd Friday babysitting and I plan and hope it is more of a typical day.
I do need to take Charlie in for a recheck, but I might wait til the week of June 13th for that.
Charlie is on the upswing and getting back into the swing of things..
I had to get xrays for Jacks on several occasions when he was little...but be assured...they get a better picture if the baby is crying. I know it doesn't make you feel better, but it really is true. :)
