Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting. ~William Arthur Ward
As a parent do I not only feel responsible for teaching your how to read, your ABC's, how to write your name, how to walk, talk, crawl. I realized yesterday I will also need to install key things into your brain that will help you along the road of life.
Yesterday I returned home from a 32 hour visit to Minneapolis for work. I picked you up from daycare and brought you home as normal. Fed you supper and then we had playtime while we patiently waited for Daddy to emerge from his office downstairs at 5:59.
You guys were playing so good, laughing, chasing eachother, and your newest habit..rolling around on the floor wrestling. Charlie loves to pin Lilly down with all his weight and she belly laughs like there is no tomorrow. I smile and watch from the kitchen as I am wiping up smashed pancakes and grapes off your highchair trays.

Out of the blue I hear Lilly scream as though someone has slammed her fingers in the car door. What on earth could of happened here? I ran over to the couch and saw Lilly laying there with her foot near Charlie's face. "Charlie Jeffery, did you bite, Sissy?".... I looked at her heel and saw the 4 purple teeth marks indented into her little foot. Lilly milked the attention and love I gave her but within 3 min was back at it, wanting to hug and wrestle her brother.
I was so impressed with how fast she forgave and forgot. I know for sure if Adam bit me in the heel that hard, I would take 24 hours to forgive, and not sure I would ever forget! I hope you grow up Miss Lilly to be as easy to forgive as you are with your Little Brother Charlie. However next week lesson will be, to not be too easy to forgive and get walked over all your life. There is always a happy medium.
My brother Chris and I went through a phase of TERRIBLE FIGHTS. He would look at me wrong and I would tattle on his ass without any hesitation. I don't know how my mom managed to deal with that B.S. Deep down I think I loved the attention he gave me. We also eventually made up, and made a fort behind the couch to sleep in. We forgave and forgot about the ride home that evening that ended in tears, hitting, and name calling.
Notice my undies with the Popples on them.
Did you have a Popple growing up? If so, what color?
