Christmas was a little out of the ordinary this year, but still very memorable. Grandpa Keith was up to visit for the week. We spend a lot of time inside, watching holiday movies and different comedy movies. Charlie was even sucked into Dirty Dancing, and he couldn't understand how Johnny Castle was NOT dating Penny. I told him Baby and Johnny Castle were dating, and he was quick to ask.. "What about Penny?!
The Monday before Christmas we all started to fall victim to the crud that was going around.
We missed the Mergen Christmas Eve gathering due to influenza. It hit us like a Mack Truck.
The two spared from the sickness were Gpa Keith and Charlie J. Charlie fell victim a couple days later. His influenza came with a side of strep throat.
We still had a nice cozy Christmas. Charlie loved tracking Santa on the computer, and was one anxious kid. He wanted to go to bed at 6pm, he was so excited!
We pulled through and set up the living room for the twins on Christmas Eve Night. I am sure I looked like a homeless woman wondering around the house, but I was gonna give my kids a good Christmas regardless of how I felt.
Our pre-lit tree started losing lights like crazy this year. We would patch spots and then more spots would pop up. Notice the top mid-section here?
They twins are still somewhat easy to please. They love band aids in their stockings and it has become a common ritual around here. They come in handy for spring and summer when the are full of road rash and mosquito bites.
The crazy cat lady got her cat with kittens in it's belly from Santa. Her love for kittens, cats, and kitties baffles me.
Father of the year. Feels like death, wants to sleep, and instead puts together a 3 hour long Lego Spaceship. Benny's Spaceship to be exact. Charlie would be quick to correct me on that one.
Benny's spaceship is complete!
Gathering the courage to Hug Grandpa Keith!
